Information on Textile Exchange ASR Update
Dear clients,
This is to inform you of a recent update to Textile Exchange Accepted Equivalent Standards Policy (ASR-106-V2.3). A key highlight is captured below, you may refer to the full policy found using the publications link or via the Textile exchange website provided at the end of the mail. What is the update?
For entities using a GOTS input TC issued before December 1st, 2022 (i.e. on or before November 30th), it can be used as inputs for OCS without additional verification by TE.
If you are using GOTS input TC issued after December 1st, 2022, it will require approval by TE prior to issuance of each OCS TC which includes GOTS transaction certificate data for the input(s). All previous input transaction certificates’ data that establishes traceability back to the farm input transaction certificate(s) shall be included.
If the documents and information submitted as per B2.2.2.a does not allow Textile Exchange to identify all of the sites involved in producing and processing the GOTS input, product traceability back to the OCS first processor(s) and their input farm transaction certificate, Textile Exchange may require further information to be submitted by the site or applicable certification body, including but not limited to farm scope certificates, farm to the first processor transaction certificates, supply chain transaction certificates, shipping or transport documents, invoices, purchase orders, product quality test reports, and financial documents. Who does this impact?
Manufacturers who are utilizing GOTS input for OCS products.
